Andrew Shortell is a Washington, D.C. based entrepreneur, film director and creative director whose career spans world-class events, elevated hospitality and experiential design.

He began his career producing high-profile events across Washington, Los Angeles, New York and Europe. At Design Cuisine, he oversaw landmark occasions including three Presidential Inaugurations, the Legg Mason Tennis Classic and Bloomberg’s White House Correspondents’ Dinner after-party.

Andrew then brought his passion for visual storytelling to film, directing and producing Psych 9, released by Universal Pictures. The experience sharpened his ability to build compelling narratives, create a distinct sense of place and connect with audiences through emotion, principles that continue to shape his creative work today.

He later served as Vice President of Global Events at Discovery Communications, producing major brand launches, premieres and international hospitality programs for Discovery Channel, Eurosport, OWN and Discovery's entire portfolio of networks.

Today, Andrew is the Founder and Creative Director of Soleil & Sel, an elevated corporate gifting company rooted in cinematic storytelling and European-inspired design. From bespoke gifting campaigns and luxury mailers to personalized gift pages and fulfillment, every experience is thoughtfully designed to strengthen relationships and make brands memorable.

Across his work, Andrew combines creative vision with operational expertise, turning important moments into meaningful experiences and stories worth sharing.
